I Drink Your Milkshake

This is really only funny if you've seen There Will be Blood... but I found it hilarious.

I finally finished tangled yoke! It is washed, sewn up, and the buttons are on. Only problem is my photographer is busy writing a paper, so I have to post pictures later. You will have to take my word for it that it's done. I have also done another chevron sock, which I will post a picture of later on.

I have been pretty busy this week because Mike and I are taking a trip to Maine on Thursday. I am really excited. We are going to drive down to Portland, stopping for a night with his parents in Bangor. It's our first vacation together where we just didn't go to one of our parent's houses. We are going to sight see around the city, and visit with our friends down there. Mike's from Maine, and a lot of my friends are from there too, so we have a lot of people to see :) I am so excited that I have already packed a snack bag consisting of apples and mini eggs for the drive down.

It's too bad I have heard that there is fantastically amazing yarn store in Bath, Maine, but I really don't need to buy yarn right now so I think I am going to have to resist :(

I finished Quant, and now that I have my indiscretions out of my system I can get back the sweater. I am happy with Quant, it covers my ears nicely, and since the wool isn't on my forhead the noro doesn't feel itchy.

Sorry the pictures aren't the best, I was home alone when I took them. For the record I used 3.5 mm needles, and I had maybe 10ish grams of Noro left over.

As for my sweater I have joined the sleeves and I am working the yoke. I only have one major set back. For some reason when I knit back and forth instead of in the round my knitting is WAY looser. The sleeves are the only part of this sweater that is knit in the round, but the result is that the sleeves are at a totally different gauge than the rest of the sweater. They still fit and everything, but it's going to look a little weird...

Shhh... Don't tell the sweater

I have to confess... I am cheating on my sweater... I am usually such a one project gal that I am feeling pretty guilty, but not guilty enough to stop my infidelity. I started this project last night during my leisure studies course because I got so frustrated trying to stuff all the pieces of my sweater into my bag. So I cast on for Quant. Isn't it great? I am very much in love or at least lust with this project, and feeling quite pleased with myself for having mastered enterlac. Or at least gained a basic understanding of it!

I worked today in Bridgewater at an Adult Residential Facility and the drive home was so ridiculously crappy that I am finding myself utterly exhauseted. Does that ever happen to anyone else after a long shitty drive? I feel like a zombie... but as a grad student I also feel like I should be doing something productive!! Does knitting count as productive? Lets say yes!

Also, G'Obama!!!

I know that I have been an awful blogger, and I am not going to lie about it, it's probably not going to get any better any time soon. All I do for my distance education courses is post online and reflect, reflect, reflect, so it leaves me feeling less than inspired to sit at a computer and reflect on my knitting.

I have been doing some knitting, mind you not a ton, but some. I am plugging away on the tangled yoke cardigan, and frankly I am a little bored. Yet I am monogamous with this sweater, so I have not been able to bring myself to cast on for something interesting. I have 1.5 sleeves done and the body up to the arms. I do think it's going to be really great when its done though. I can't express how much I love tweed.

I have also come to the realization that I have too much yarn. I know. I know. Really though I have to cut down. I am going on a serious yarn diet until I cut into some of this silliness. I now have 6 large rubber maid bins of yarn. This is just ridiculous. I have a variety of colors and weights so there is no excuse. Mind you I don't have enough yarn for sweaters in any type, but lots for socks, toys, mitts, hats, and whimsies.

PS: never drink water at my house that you have left out on the coffee table
