Last days of freedom

School starts again for me on Monday, and it is causing a range of emotions for me. Part of me is excited to get back into it, part of me is terrified that I am going to let everything fall apart this term. Grad school has so many responsibilities.. and this term involves a lot of work that is outside the classroom ie: working with a nursing home, giving public speeches etc... it is all pretty scary. The worst part is that I have an onsite class this term on Tuesday nights... so no more knit night for me.. I will miss you guys!

I have gotten some great knitting done over the holiday's, including the Yarn Harlot's unoriginal hat. Which took about 3 hours!

I used a chunky Knit Picks, but I can't remember the name right now. I like that hat, but I wished it hadn't pooled/spiraled like that.

I have almost completed a pair of Waving Lace socks in Knit Picks Essential Tweed. I really love this pattern, and I am super excited to finish them. The only downside is that I left the finished sock at a friend's house, and won't be able to get it back until next week :(

Finally, I have cast on for the Tangled Yoke sweater I have been dreaming. I have wanted to make this since I first saw it, but I wanted to make it in the Rowan Felted Tweed that the pattern called for, which I just could not afford. Luckily I received a gift certificate for Fiberphilia from Mike's family, which meant that I could have it! Thank you!!

Love the red tweed. It's a nice contrast for the cat!

I find that going back to school/work is hard too. But I feel better about it this year than I did last year because I actually took some time off from school. With a thesis based psyc grad program you can really work all the time - there is always something to do it seems so you have to plan time off and make yourself do it. I am getting better at this slowly. Here is hoping your new year goes swimmingly. And what does that phrase mean? So strange... Oh and the kitty video from the other post is hilarious. I'd seen it before but it gets me every time. It would be even funnier if it didn't remind me of my cat (- the bat of course). She freaks out a bit (or gets concerned) with the meaos and stuff but I don't really understand why because it isn't that realistic.
