Cate has tagged me for this meme, which is the Peeps I Want To Know More About meme. Here are my responses.

The rules: Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

1) What was I doing ten years ago?
I was graduating from grade 6 (I know, I am still just an infant), I was getting ready to move to Tatamagouche which was new for me. One of my best friends (caitie) was staying behind in Antigonish and my other best friend (lauren) moved to Australia. It was rough.

2) What are five (non-work) things on my to-do list for today:

wow, I almost only do work things these days. Let's see,
I am going out to dinner with Mary and her family, as Mary is leaving tomorrow
I visited with my parents because they were in town
I want to work on the sock I am currently knitting, and finish it so I can get back to my sweater
I am going to mope around because Mary is leaving and I am going to be lonely
The cats need snuggling

3) Snacks I enjoy:
I love soooo many foods including, but not limited to:
Popcorn, nachos, artichoke dip, apples and peanut butter, cheese and crackers, candy, peanut butter or oatmeal cookies, yoghurt...

4) Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
I would study more and possible do a Ph.d, but I wouldn't work at the same time, I would just enjoy school. I would buy a house on the coast, build a barn next to it and stock with sheep and Icelandic horses. I would also get a dog for the house. I would pay of the debts of my loved ones and buy them hybrid cars (maybe one for me too). I would travel to far corners of the earth. I would give money the to NDP and Barack Obama. I would travel to visit friends and family who are far apart from me. Really I would do whatever the hell I felt like!

5) Places I have lived:
Charlottetown, PEI
Halifax, NS
Antigonish, NS
Tatamagouche, NS
Akureyri, Iceland
Saint John, NB

6) Jobs I have had:
Babysitter
Waitress
Museum tour guide at a Fossil Centre
Jam Maker
Self employed at the Farmers Market as a knitter and Smoothie maker (no joke!)
Teaching Assistant
Usher, bartender and coat check attendant at the Rebecca Cohen
Personal care worker

WWKIP Day!

I joined the crowds yesterday and made my way down to the public library with my wool to join in on Knit in Public Day. I brought my camera, but I was so overwhelmed with all the knitters and all the wool and all the fun that I completely forgot to take any pictures. How terrible is that? I saw lots of bloggers with cameras there though so there should be not shortage of pictures up on the web.

I did win a prize though!! I won a beautiful pattern by the lovely and talented Ilga Leja. I promptly made my way down to The Loop and bought some soft and gorgeous baby alpaca to make the pattern. I am going to Maine for a wedding on June 25, I think it will be my travel knitting project.

I also brought my Central Park Hoodie down with me and did some work on it. I havn't knit in worsted weight in a long time, and honestly I had forgot how thick and quick it is to knit up. I finished the back and most of one of the fronts. Although I have taken a break from finishing it to complete a half done pair of frootloops.

I tried very hard to get a half decent picture of my progress on my sweater, but Hobbes was having a major crazy this morning. Every time I tried to lay the wool out he flipped out and lept into it attack it and rolling around it. I finally grabbed him and placed him under my blanket in my bedroom. I managed to snap this picture before he found his way out again.
